Why use a thermal
canvas coated pet flap rather than a plastic pet
flap?
Plastic pet flaps
crack, warp, and become very rigid when exposed
to weathering over time. When
this happens plastic pet flaps provide little
sealing ability as well as provide your pet with
a new chew toy. Plastic flaps also scratch
easily and collect dirt and bacteria within
those scratches which is hard to remove. The
Freedom Pet Pass flexible canvas coated thermal
pet flap never loses its integrity due to
weathering and therefore maintains its
insulating draft-free seal. We use a thermal
rubber commonly used to insulate basement
flooring in newer homes. The marine grade
canvas is highly abrasive resistant and easily
cleans with a non-detergent cleanser.
Furthermore, pets will not be able to
easily chew through the canvas material.
What pet
door size is right for your dog?
The two available sizes
are medium and large. Our flexible pet door
flaps work great for pets of different sizes
sharing the same dog door. Choose a dog door
that allows at least 1 inch clearance from the
tallest point on your dog's back while allowing
enough bottom clearance for your shortest pet to
pass through. It is important to purchase a dog
door of the correct size for your pet so they
can easily pass in and out of your
home.

Is
this door mounted pet door easy to install?
Yes, if you
are the handy type. The self-framing PVC frame
harnesses the Freedom Pet Pass pet door
and simply screws itself together to fit within
standard 1 3/4 inch thick exterior
doors.
Proper
installation is a
prerequisite
for the
weather tight
seal.
If you're handy,
self-installation
is the
cheapest
way to go. But,
if you're not,
the extra cost of
having
your new pet door professionally installed
may be
well worth the
convenience,
as well as
peace of mind
knowing
it's done
properly and securely.
